Beliefs
The MOVE Organization took residence in Powelton Village. Members of the organization followed in John Africa's footsteps by changing their surname to Africa. They showed their beliefs by holding demonstrations, protesting city officials's decisions, and filing lawsuits against the Philadelphia Police.
When Vincent Leaphart and Donald Glassey were born
When the guidelines were written
When they became a family
When the family changed its name to Africa
When they refused to change it back
When they let their hair grow into ropes
When they refused all ”distortion”
When they said: We On A MOVE!
When they rallied at the zoo
When they chanted, “set the tigers free!”
When they got arrested
